Wes for Youth Online www.wesforyouthonline.ca
Wes was an energetic hockey player who suffered with mental health issues in silence. When he was 16 he died by suicide. His parents created Wes (Wellness and Emotional Support) for youth online so that young people would have somewhere to find support. They offer free, ongoing counselling to youth across Ontario. And it’s all done online.

BounceBack is an online program from the Canadian Mental Health Association designed to help adults and youth 15+. Free, confidential, and you can do it from the privacy of your own home.

We get it. Struggling with your mental health can be scary and can make you feel like you’re doing this on your own. You aren’t. Big White Wall is an online community of members who support, help each other and share what’s troubling them in a safe and anonymous environment. Even better, the site is monitored by clinically trained ‘Wall Guides’, who are online 24/7.

where mental health, wellness, engagement, and technology meet. They work with young people to co-create interactive tools and innovative resources to help build resilience, promote wellness, and increase access to supports. Full of interesting information, great games, and tons of apps, this site has everything!
SUPPORTIVE APPS:
Who doesn’t have their phone on them 24/7? Why not turn it into a tool for improving your mental health? Discreet, confidential, and sometimes kind of fun. Here are some apps that can help you stay on top of your game. They’re all free, too.
Be Game Ready – Mental Health and Hockey. All in one place. Designed in partnership with the Ottawa Senators, this app will help you take care of your brain just like you take care of your body.
Smiling Mind – Remember that connection between mental toughness and mindfulness? This app has some handy mindfulness exercises you can use, broken down by age. You can also do daily mood check ins and track your progress over long periods of time.
MindShift – Struggling with anxiety? Tired of missing out? There are things you can do to stop anxiety and fear from controlling your life. This app is designed to help teens and young adults cope with all kinds of anxiety.
SuperBetter - SuperBetter is a game focusing on increasing resilience and the ability to remain strong, optimistic, and motivated when presented with challenging obstacles in life.
Happify - Need a happy fix? With its psychologist-approved mood-training program, the Happify app is your fast-track to a good mood. Try various games, activity suggestions, gratitude prompts and more to train your brain as if it were a muscle, to overcome negative thoughts.
Grid Diary – Keeping track of your life can help you process what your going through and can be a cool way to look back at where you’ve been! But keeping a journal isn’t for everyone. With Grid Diary writing about your day is as simple as answering a question or prompt. You can even attach pictures and search your past entries. There are tons of great, free features but you can upgrade to Pro and get even more!
Be Safe – This app was created by youth in partnership with mental health professionals. It allows you to create your own safety plan, connect with resources in your area, and find the words you need to ask for help.
Self Help Anxiety Management – SAM is an app with tons of tools for helping you deal with anxiety including an anxiety tracker and toolkit.
Calm - Calm was branded as Apple's "App of the Year" in 2017. The app is designed to reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and help you to feel happier. Even better – the app offers meditation programs as short as 3 minutes.
Sober Grid - allows you to create online profiles and interact, support, and engage with other people in recovery. You can also use the app to create anonymous check-ins about whether you’re sober or not, your mood, and what’s going on. If you turn on the GPS locator, you can find other sober people nearby. This can be useful if you’re traveling, in a new city, at a concert, or in an airport and you want to find other sober people to connect with.
WEconnect - provides you with daily reminders to stay on track with your recovery plan. You can create reminders to call your sponsor, go to a group meeting, or meditate—anything you need to provide that extra push. You can also check in to activities such as 12-step meetings, outpatient treatment, group therapy, church, or one-on-one meetings with a coach or sponsor. The app includes a list of “clarity routines” that you can mark off throughout your day. If you’re feeling really down, you can use the “SOS” feature to get extra support when you need it the most.
Always There - Some things can be hard to say out loud. If you need to talk with someone who gets what’s going on in your life, you can connect directly with a Kids Help Phone counsellor five days a week. This chat app is anonymous and confidential.
Drugwatch - Through Drugwatch, consumers can get the information they need to make informed health care decisions, share their drug and device stories, and connect with an experienced national law firm.
